Area Sales Manager

The Area Sales Manager role offers a fantastic opportunity to guide homebuyers through an exciting and personalized purchase journey—helping them build the home they’ve always dreamed of.

Big builders sell volume. Boutique builders sell customization.
Parkwood does both.

We compete head-to-head with the volume guys, but we don’t sell “one of the three options.” We build homes around real lives—layouts, function, finishes and details—with a level of personalization most builders only talk about.

People don’t buy a home because they need a house. They buy because they need a solution: more space that works, a plan that fits their family, a better way to live day-to-day. At Parkwood, you don’t sell features. You sell fit.

If you want a sales role where you can close confidently because the product is genuinely different, and where your decisions actually move things forward, you’ll like it here.

Why Parkwood

You sell a real differentiator

  • Boutique-level customization without boutique-level limits
  • A personalized journey buyers can feel from the first meeting to possession
  • You’ll win customers who say, “Everywhere else felt the same… until we walked into Parkwood.”

You move fast

  • Smaller team, fewer layers, faster answers
  • You’re not waiting on five approvals to do right by a customer
  • Problems get handled early, not after the next meeting

You’ve got backup

  • Tight collaboration with drafting, design and construction
  • One team, one file, one customer experience
  • The standard is simple: say it clearly, document it properly, deliver it cleanly

You help shape the next play

  • You’re tuned into the market—new construction and resale—and you can explain what it means for buyers, pricing and positioning
  • You bring ideas that improve the way we sell, communicate and deliver the customer experience
  • You turn real buyer conversations into feedback we can act on—fast
  • You keep a constant eye on land positions and opportunities around the city and bring them forward with context and recommendations

The perks (because life is real)

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits
  • Generous vacation and personal time off
  • Professional development plus one-on-one coaching
  • Team socials, happy hours and themed events
  • Building a Difference Day: paid volunteer day each quarter for a charity you choose

What you’ll do

This is an end-to-end role. You own the relationship and you run a clean file.

  • Guide buyers through the full journey: inquiry, selections, contract, build milestones and possession
  • Become an expert in Parkwood’s models, options, features and community guidelines
  • Translate buyer goals into a plan that works—and keep it aligned through the build
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts, maintain accurate customer files and remove surprises
  • Partner with internal teams (drafting, design, construction) to keep decisions tight and timelines clear
  • Keep showhomes, signage and marketing materials sharp and aligned with Parkwood standards
  • Bring forward market insights and customer feedback that help Parkwood stay ahead
  • Keep a pulse on the Edmonton resale market and use that insight to position Parkwood homes with confidence
  • Build and maintain strong industry relationships (realtors, brokers, developers, land partners and other key players) that generate leads and intelligence
  • Provide forward-looking insights on economic conditions, interest rate sentiment and local market momentum to help guide sales strategy
  • Watch land activity across Edmonton and surrounding areas and flag opportunities that could impact future communities, product and demand
  • Build pipeline, hit targets and create customers who send referrals without being asked

Who does well here

You’ll thrive at Parkwood if you:

  • Can sell with confidence and clarity—no gimmicks, no pressure tactics
  • Have grit and tenacity: you follow up, you work the plan and you don’t fold when it gets hard
  • Love ownership and accountability
  • Can read floorplans and guide buyers through decisions like a pro
  • Understand enough construction to educate buyers responsibly and set clean expectations
  • Keep details tight: contracts, selections, timelines and follow-ups
  • Bring new ideas, stay curious and keep a pulse on trends in the Edmonton market
  • You’re well-connected—you have real relationships in the industry, not just a LinkedIn list
  • You understand the resale market deeply and can speak that language credibly with buyers and partners
  • You think ahead: you’re paying attention to the economy, rates and buyer psychology before it shows up in the showhome
  • Show up aligned with our values: Caring, Collaborative, Authentic, Reliable, Passionate, Engaged

Experience we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in new home sales (Area Sales Manager preferred)
  • Strong organization and file management
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel locally
